Lust and ...

1 John 2:15-16

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world.

If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,

16 because all that is in the world (the desire of the flesh and

the desire of the eyes and the arrogance produced by material possessions)

is not from the Father, but is from the world.

Daily appetite for forbidden fruit

Artificial taste dragging values down

Always thinking it will turn out like this

Until finally you in lost values drown

Compromise always starts with issues of the mind

It will lay in slumber until your will is weak

Catching you off-guard in its daily routine

When your lack of resistance is at its peak

Like water to a drain you’re sucked up in darkness

Once the flow is going there is no turning back

Helpless you are moving toward the gurgling sound

With your final words: “Oh what the heck”

Flowing down the sewer in similar company

Everyone’s smell now much the same

Going to a pit where all is mire

And finally at the end of your game
