Lukewarm

Psalm 102:7   I stay awake; I am like a solitary bird on a roof.

Waking suddenly in the night ... Don’t want to get up

Dogs keep on barking as minutes tick away

The air is fresh and cool ... the blankets keep me shielded

Life is very good somehow as my patience slowly frays

Gosh! My flesh loves comfort ... the Spirit seems not in charge

Caught between dimensions ... the day is calling me

In the middle of the night the dogs repeat their quest

For me to get out of bed and hurry to set them free

Here I go in the dark ... can’t see much of anything

My glasses won’t help much as I stumble through the house

It takes me a little while to open the doors on the cages

As my coordination somehow stayed in bed with my spouse
