Love's mystery

Job 31:2

2 For what has God above chosen for us?
What is our inheritance from the Almighty on high?

I guess I have not forgotten ... the condition that you are in.

At times I don’t remember ... does that mean I don’t care?

If my thoughts are occupied or my mind is in the gutter

does that mean that I am lost or that my heart is not there?

Did we get separated long ago ... by time, space and distance?

Was it worth it for me to move ... and leave the ones I loved?

Was that love replaced in kind ... by clinging to wife and purpose

whose children replaced all ... that I left behind there-off?

The answer is bouncing in my heart and helps me to understand

that space and time don’t mean a thing ... when love is at stake.

You can be light-years away ... or as close as next door

it’s neither here nor there that counts ... it’s never on display.
