A Lover's Cry

A Lover’s Cry

By Emma Doyon

Inspired by Denise Levertov

“Scraps of moon

tattered on the ground.”

bloodied and beaten

by the sound

of a lover’s cry.

Drips of galaxy

pooling the in the corner’s of the room,

languid and heavy

by the gloom

of a soulless life.

Shards of sun

litter the walls

frantic and jittery,

by the calls

of a desperate woman

All unheard,

by a loving goddess

in hopes of a revelation,

for her child.
