Love like you

Love.

You said you loved me.

I should have known.

Mother always said to be wary of such pretty words.

I was nieve and how I craved your affection

your attention

You made me smile and laugh

Glad that someone listened to me for a change.

Then the fights came

The slaps,

The punches,

The  kicks,

The bruises and blood.

You said you would never do it again

Then you did.

You always did.

One to many punches and kicks.

Boom! Pow! Pop!

Gone.

Dead.

Love.

You said you loved me.

How wrong I was.

Now I see you say the same to someone else,

From my place on the wall.
