Love Support

Humans were not made to live
Sans-love.
I know that I am not worthy.
I am a sinner
By nature
Far from perfection,
And like the child's hopeful eye
Watching for the father
Who's never coming home again,
I'm sure I've let you down.
But I was born from love
I just inherited this sin
These faults
This imperfection.
Grown into it
Like hand me down Jackets
And safety pin hemmed jeans,
So please accept me for me
All that I am is
Soul wandering for love.
I survive solely on
Hopes and dreams of it,
Leaching off that of others
When faith wavers too much
To keep me alive.
Like tics I cling
Holding tight
Waiting for
Fallen drops.
Remnants,
Scraps of love
Somehow
Became enough
To keep lungs
Breathing through
The night.
Comatose
But
People were not meant
To live on machines,
So once the supply runs thin again
Wean my body off
The control
These crumbs
Someone else's
Love,
Let me down easily
And see if I
Survive.
