Love Is A Rainbow

We were both so young,

I was especially naive.

Now that I've grown older,

I know what love means.

Love is a rainbow,

A cascade of feelings.

It is red,

A road filled not with dread,

Leading back to You.

It is blue,

The softest hue,

Morning dew,

and You.

It is yellow,

Afternoons mellow,

My favorite Jell-O,

I only share with You.

It is white,

The purest to contradict the night,

To bring fair light,

Just for You.

My love is black,

The fiercest black,

For the days I spend away from You.
