Love Feels

Love feels like deep sorrow and frozen commitment. Excitement and skipping heart beats. The way the stars shine at night for the moon. The way the moon shines for us. It feels like having comfort in free-falling. Feels like collapsing in a field with the sun shining on your face. Like having to trust in something for the first time. Having the wind slap your face. Tripping over nothing and falling into a puddle. It feels like warmth in my hands and butterflies in my stomach. Like the smell of roses. Confusion. Brokenness. Repair. Temporary. Dried flowers. Petals pressed in a book. A photo tucked in my pocket. It feels like yellow streaked with red.
