Love Doesn't Hurt

I wait, in fear, as I hear footsteps walking towards.
I cringe and brace myself.
Closer.
Closer.
The door knob twists and in he walks.
Anger in his voice. Anger on his face.
I knew there was something I missed, something I did wrong.
A swing.
A bruise.
Another swing.
My lip bursts open and I soon taste blood.
"Its what you deserve," I heard him say.
Then he grinned and walked away.
This life is painful, and then I think,
"Not one soul deserves this."
