The Love

I stood there in my dog house.

I knew what had to be done, but never wanted to do it.

I was trained one way, but my heart was leading me another way.

I could feel the puppies move.

I never wanted them to have a life like this.

It was horrible.

I looked around.

I saw them bring in pitbulls and other dogs in here.

I finally gave birth to my puppies.

I had told them what life was like.

I did not want them going through what I went through.

But they had to.

They had no other choice.

One day, one of my sons, gets ready for a fight.

The bait dog is his youngest sister.

The motherly love I have, it broke my heart that I could not do anything to help them.

All I could do is sit and watch the fight.

I watched as my son was beaten nearly to death.

But as I ran away, I felt this sharp pain in my chest.

It was as if someone took my heart, and threw a bomb at it.

As I lay there dying, one of the rescuers, held me, and I licked their hand.

All I wanted was love, compassion, and a family.
