Love

Forgetting to flick the headlights on, remind him again.

Overly eager tourists on very different islands.

Early morning Americano, with its steaming heat and her rain coat.

Both cars don’t come from our homeland, but they stay afloat.

National Star Wars day, yard games, and a bus kiss.

Read the instructions, red button to replay, rewind and re-bliss.

A doppelganger horror show after a caramel macchiato.

Their first feelings, a trickle of gold. Now, they stop at GetGo.

Three months to the kids, offer up a toast.

Can you play the country songs? They like those the most.

Deep feelings, held together by Herculean superglue.

Now more than ever, saying, “With you, it’s so true.”

Those who put each other first, they have no fear.

Roses, chlorine, and a speeding ticket for the late year.

A looming flashback to rock climbing with the French.

They’ll try it all, kissing on that ballroom bench.

God’s plan? Yes, yes, indeed.

No hands on bike handles, eyes closed, full-speed.

Loving each and every asset of the other is easy to do.

No one stays down, the short-lived is so blue.

Missed the decade’s moments, were they too obvious? Not enough?

They don’t have a care. No regard for such stuff.

Sometimes the wire swings and sways.

Both know they’re fine. Some wires don’t fray.

So a three-hour check-in tonight around one?

Oh, yes please. Young love is so fun.
