Lost at Sea
I’m underwater unable to breathe,
As I’m gasping for air my body wreathes.
The deeper I sink, the darker it gets,
I start to ponder my smallest regrets.
The voices above are muffled and soft,
The sounds come from somewhere soaring aloft.
Solitude, silence, static, serene, still,
I start to retreat here by my free will.
I opened my eyes, the salt water stung,
This was not a place for someone so young.
My body won’t let me stay down for long,
As they pulled me up, they said to stay strong.
One third of the earth is covered by sea,
Three years of my life, the sea consumed me.
