Looking For a Break

I know the change that trickles
Is like a diamond mine
And my cupboards of canned food
Could feed the starving children
But I’m still barely living
Hardly making enough to get by
I walk to and from work
Most days and nights
I’m inventive in the kitchen
Because we live on offerings
And I don’t have change for perks
For extracurricular fun
And I need a new wardrobe
As I’m constantly losing weight
This too shall wait
Cause we’re still falling behind
I’m just a little weary
Of feeding at the bottom of the tank
I guess I just feel like I wish
Life would give me a break
