Look Inside
Look outside
And see the war—
Forces uncontrollable
And powers that destroy
Look outside
And see the peace.
Blood remains stained in our hearts,
But cleaned from the streets.
Look outside
And see the storm—
Winds thrash through the town
And uproot what we form.
Look outside
And see the sky.
The affected still wander homeless,
But our spirits are lifted high.
The war, the peace;
The sky, the storm;
Who are we to witness—
Who are we to mourn?
Are we the eyes that gaze,
the hearts who feel,
the souls which suffer—
What role do we play?
What power do we have—
What can we do,
How much can we stop,
And will we pull through?
The answer does not matter.
We are who we are,
And we do what we do—
All I ask is this: Believe in you.
