The waves, the ocean crash against the wall,

They bring back what was lost and washed away.

Oh how I long to yearn, to Neptune call,

"Return to me what once was mine and stay!"

Sometimes I dream within the darkest night,

And wonder of the things that could have been.

If only once again appear in sight

Thy form so beautiful that I have seen.

But no- it's gone, and this I know is true;

And even when eternity has passed,

I shall not ever see in oceans blue

The soul that once my heart had encompassed!

And yet remain in me forever more

So long as this my heart, it can endure!
