Locked Away

They are

And always will be,

All I need.

They hold onto my most precious memories;

The moments meant to last a lifetime.

They glow with me; they warm as I hold them close

As I trust them with my deepest secrets

As I lock them away inside.

Together we can search far and wide

For the answers; for the meaning of life

For the cosmos and beyond.

There’s music

A simple note that turns into countless ballads

Of sorrow and loss; of beauty and life.

With them there’s

Hours upon hours of amusement,

of boredom turned to enjoyment

We connect

Exploring city streets long after dark

As always,

I have them to light the way.

But are they my loved one or my phone?
