Locked In
She wanted her to be proud of her,
she needed someone to appreciate her.
She wished that she could be welcomed,
she begged her to believe in her.
She folded in on herself over the years,
she gave up on the hope that she could be accepted.
She closed her mouth and shut her eyes,
she crawled into a hole in her heart and locked herself in.
She wasted away in that dark cavern of hers,
she knew that no one could get in.
She cried in the corner of the cavern,
she realized no one would want to get in.
She let herself die a little everyday,
she allowed herself to look for the end all day.
She walked towards the door that would end it all,
she closed it behind her and locked herself in one last time.
