I am no poet

Nor am I a rhyming apprentice of Dr. Seuss

I am also no tragic romantic like William Shakespeare

I am a student

A senior in fact,

Who's so far yet so close to heading to college

I am indecisive

In all the choices I make

For I could make the wrong ones

I am scared

To follow the path I am about to choose

Am I taking the right steps?

I am trapped

Between the need to please my parents

And the choice to make myself happy

I am me
