Lines drawn

John 8:4-8

“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. 7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.

Lines

A simple line was drawn in the sand … appeared so lonely

The grains pushed aside … felt the Hand of God

The time came and went … as a few names only

The Lord did write … and the crowd never forgot

A woman caught in sin … was brought before the Master

Did she fall alone … in what took two to do?

It really would have been … very much faster

if I had come along … with all the things I do

My name was drawn in the sand … a burden to the ground

The Lord looking down … as He spelled my name

The stones in my hands … now weighed a thousand pounds

Where is now is my crown … my life can't ever be the same?
