Lightning

Psalm 135:7

He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightning for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries.

Lightning

Does it strike without a reason?

Like a thought in life's storm?

Is there than a special season

so lightning appears a metaphor?

It brightens oft the whole horizon.

Fleeting thoughts … so far away.

The thunder rumbles simply lonesome

as fears and hopes through another day.

Darkness follows these sudden flashes

like a dream that is nightmare bound.

There is no peace as thunder dashes

from close to far a threatening sound.

Every time the bolts are streaking

nitrogen gets released in mass.

It brings new hope … where life was fleeting.

What a purpose and that is that.
