A light in the dark

A shadow fell, the world stood still,
When cancer took my brother’s will.
Yet in his eyes, I saw a flame,
A quiet strength, an untold name.

Through all the pain, he never broke,
With every breath, he dared to hope.
And though his light was dimmed too soon,
It echoes still, like a rising moon.

I walk this road with heart in hand,
A journey shaped by grains of sand.
Each step I take is filled with dreams,
Of brighter days and healing streams.

For in his memory, I’ll press on,
His courage fueling what’s to come.
The lessons learned from love and loss,
Are worth more than the highest cost.

This scholarship, a gift, a guide,
Will carry me through tears I've cried.
To honor him, I’ll rise above,
And chase my dreams with endless love.

So grant me this, and let me grow,
For in my heart, his light will show.
Through every challenge, pain, and fight,
His spirit will still burn so bright.
