Life's Boulevard

life's boulevard

Lost  in  the darkness
of my own life's boulevard
Where dreams lay shattered
and  strewn all around
I find no tenderness
or joy  left in my heart.
I often I wonder if it mattered.
As I hear my own  lonely heart pound

I seek a way out of this
But no light comes to me
My life was once full and complete
With love and some directions
Where it went wrong I must've missed
but heartbreak  brought on misery
as we felt the weight of painful defeat
Now all that remains are broken reflections.

Am I destined to live in the desolate
place I once proudly called home
Where once laughter could be heard
There was someone I cared for
The feelings were easy to relate
We knew we wouldn't be alone
But now it all floods me and hurts
Making me wish I wasn't here anymore
