Lifeboat

I'm sinking, slowing drowning;

Struggling to even catch my breath.

I try to look up,

And reach out of the black of death.

Far ahead I see a faint light

While struggling to stand.

I'm dragging myself towards the end

And grap ahold of a hand.

It holds me tight

And doesn't let go.

Whispering" I've got you",

Yet somehow I already know.

He pulls me out of the depths.

It's like coming up for fresh air,

after being held under.

A feeling like this seems so rare.
