Life Lessons from a Flower
Location
In another world, I would be a flower
With light pink petals and a long green stem
I'd be awfully pretty and wonderfully witty
The plain people would pass and I'd pity them
In another world, then the rain would come
And while others would go indoors
I'd be left all alone to fend for my own
Among raucous, thunderous roars
In another world, the rain would then stop
And while children would go out to play
My petals would dry and never would I
Have an option but to stay
In another world, I'd be parched and hot
With no beauty left to lend
I'd twist and I'd turn and in thirst I would learn
That the rain was only a friend
