Life Is

They say life is like a merry go round

Round and round, up and down as it cycles.

You've been here before, nothing is newfound,

it's all west bound, no need for oracles.

Some don't like fairgrounds, so life is a game

of cards. aces, spades, diamonds, clubs and hearts.

Don't blame the cards; survival is the aim.

Do best with what's given ere life departs

floor to floor cause life's an elevator,

box of chocolates, a rollercoaster.

It's three stages: liquid, solid, vapor.

Even better, it's a plain old toaster.

But all these metaphors make life lose meaning--

inspired by trials so you stop dreaming.
