Lies We Never Told

Beg me a question

The answer I'll tell it

But hold your tongue and mine will never hang loose

The reasons we're making

The monsters we've created

With words made of gestures without hands or lips

Just phrases of body language that we yelled too loud as we fought

For questions we would never ask aloud

We'd rather just suffer in silence

So we'd never have to confront the truth that we're fibbers

Just lie to ouselves, as if blasphemy is only what leaves the tongue

Rather than what soils it when left there to rot
