Letting Her Go

When she smiles her crooked smile

All you can do is go along with her

Crazy schemes and sunshine days

And when you see her she shines

Starlight in her eyes, sunshine in her hair

Light seems to find her no matter how dark it is

All you can see is the swirl of color

And it sends your head into a whirl

Your mind begins to numb

Just like that she’s got you under her thumb

When she smiles her crooked smile

All you can do is go along with her

Crazy schemes and sunshine days

And when you see her she shines

Starlight in her eyes, sunshine in her hair

Light seems to find her no matter how dark it is

If you ever find her never let her go

She was too hard to find

But I let her slip through my fingertips

And now I can never find her again

When she smiles her crooked smile

All you can do is go along with her

Crazy schemes and sunshine days

And when you see her she shines

Starlight in her eyes, sunshine in her hair

Light seems to find her no matter how dark it is

Letting go can be better than holding on though

What if she had been the one to say goodbye?

Just before you know it she’s gone anyway

But she’ll always be my memory because

When she smiles her crooked smile

All you can do is go along with her

Crazy schemes and sunshine days

And when you see her she shines

Starlight in her eyes, sunshine in her hair

Light seems to find her no matter how dark it is
