The Letter That Changed it All

I hold the envelope close, felling the paper between my fingers Ripping it open I take care Reading it I take on despair I want to cry Nothing comes The well is dry, and it’s because of you I was once excited You left me I was once happy You left me I thought distance would make a difference Now I’m just asking …why? The world seems to be getting smaller Sucking in memories as it shrinks I guess I no longer mind if you’re one of them You disappointed me That’s what I think At first angry I wrote Going back to change the wording Realizing how I spoke I was no better than your sad letter So as always I write With love , a girl
