Let Me Breathe

Release me of this shattered standards you call beauty. Let me be me, beautiful and free. Your silly rules are breaking me inside. The feeling of prosperity I must hide. Today you make it clear to me, women are to be hidden. Locked away. Not to face humanity. I am running at the world passionately. But here you stand wanting me to pay for taking a step out of my comfort zone. I will not back down for I have found a way to be me, passionate and free. Let me go of these horrendous chains holding me back. For I will lack experience in the real world. I want to show people the real me. But the story you tell is it's dangerous to be feeling as if I can be me. Let me live. I can only give so much joy to others in need. I am suffering. You are drowning me. Let me breath.
