Lessons

Let the rain pour down on me.

Let it was away my shame

Cause I can't stand to look down

at myself and see my mistakes laid out like

angry red welts on my skin

and see the dark raised edges of my scars,

Lessons-

learned the hard way.

Life isn't punishment and reward nor is it

pleasure and pain .

It's a series of blind decisions with

a consequence for every choice.
