The Legend of Cropsey

Location

Tender grounds catch my every step,

reminding me this was once walked on before.

Right Left Right,

a story untold here lies inside the roots of the trees.

Left Right Left,

I can hear the crickets chrip her name.

Jennifer. Jennifer.

The deer's eyes in the bushes let me know there's more.

My bones taste the winds blow,

a chill of many deaths,

waiting for someone to free the souls.

Right Left Right,

Abandoned building aligned to keep eachother company.

Left Right Left,

they shall not speak,

for they to have secrets untold,

of how they hold bodies underneath them.

Silent witnesses to the crim.

Right Left Right,

Crunch. The leaves lie on the ground to hide the truth.

Left Right Left,

The vines invade into a tunnel once called home.

The quietest are the most dangerous.

And between the hushed trees and cracked pavements lies many secrets.

Right Left Right,

The road to exit seems to never end.

They don't want me to leave,

They ask me to join.

I see her hand reach from the ground I just walked on.

Jennifer?

Left Right Left,

Exit.

I'll be back once more.
