Late to School

Here I am, here I sped,

racing through my sleeping bed,

Dashing closely towards my closet

justfor clothes for my deposit,

After dressing oh so quickly,

my dog came coming to lick me,

Then I swiftly brushed my teeth

and washed my face and underneath,

And then my dog came once again,

he came just round the clock and then,

I rushed my chance right overhead

and passed him jumping, but instead,

I jumped right over flights of stairs

and fell face first and thought'who cares?'

I hopped right up and had to bail

because my dog was on my tail,

When I ran into the kitchen

then my sister went to pitch in,

She distracted 'doggy do'

while I just ate a bite or two,

Of cereal, no time for much,

like munchies, crunchies, sweets and such,

And then I got my bookbag full

of stuff and it was hard to pull,

And then I flew out of the door

and ran to somewhere, then once more,

I looked and then, with such great fuss

I figured out I missed my bus!

And so I had to run to school,

and boy was I a great big fool,

Cause past all of those great big marts

and past all of those building parts,

Which, I add, I had run through

then there was one thing left to do,

I walked through the sidewalk pave

and I was feeling strong and brave,

Only to find the doors were locked

and I feld stumped and I felt blocked,

And then I realised, this I say,

that today was Sarurday!!

So from then on I checked the date

so next time I won't be late...
