The last time

Kiss me gentely tonight.

Hug me close and sweet.

Because it will be your last.

The last time we dance under these stars

The last time you place your hand in mine.

In my last moments I will miss your smile, your wrinkles with my wrinkles.

I will miss the way you snore at night and whimper, oh how I wished I coud hear you snore once again.

Get angry and yell at me tonight.

Scream and throw things like crazy.

Because it will be your last.

The last time I wil fall asleep in your arms.

And the last time I will wake up next to you.

Tomorow will be my last.

Tonight will be our last.

Don't  cry when they tell you.

Don't go after him.

He was young and careless,

He just wanted to fit in with the crowd.

So he drank his night away

and got in his car.

And on the way back home

he hit an old lady.

He hit me.

I told him to give you the apple pie that I craddled in my arms,

For it was your favorite.

And as I bled out, he cried.

Honey, it was my last night on earth.

And I was okay with that.

Because it was his last too.

He never drank and drove after that.

Not even a sip.

And he grew up to save many lives and tell a story about an old lady  with an apple pie.

So honey cry all you want now.

For I'll always be with you

I will will wait for you, for your last.

So you can join me

and then that will be our last,

Our last time apart.
