I had been with the Sun-- whilst it had been a
Morning Star
Whether or not its Rays had chosen--me--to
bring to light
was Not my place to Question
My Place was--as always-- set upon a starry Night
Chasing the Sun--
But never--
Feeling its Warmth

I had been with the Sun-- whilst it had been a
Midday Spirit
The Glow of the orb draws many--
That bask in its eternal light--
But never Me
For I simply follow--follow and keep--
My own thoughts at bay
A Starry Night gets--
Lonely and Cold

I had been with the Sun-- whilst it had been a
Half-Circle Hue
The Warmth that it gave now--
Rejected by those who searched out its vigor
They Rays-- weak as a day old wren
For now-- the Dusk has risen
And cries for a new Orb come about
As I begin my own path

I had been with the Sun--but nevermore
I no longer follow--for I myself am adored
My Rays are welcomed-- My Orb cherished
And the Sun itself--has returned
To its own--lonely ways
