The Lake of Love

Location

I took his hand in mine,

And together we quickly leaped

Into the Lake of Love

And dove into the deep.

The deeper we plunged,

The more we had loved.

Yet one stays under for so long,

Until they return to above.

The air was chilled above the water,

And our hearts had mimicked the breeze.

Our once burning, passionate love

Had become lifeless and empty.

We floated down the flow of the lake,

Deserted, sad, and alone.

We approached a roaring waterfall,

Yet our grief had taken control.

Down we fell, out of love,

Lust for love mistaken.

We smacked against the jagged landing

And both our hearts were taken.
