Labyrinth of the Heart

Trembling with the thought of being lost
Into my basket of luck my hope is tossed
Searching for a window in a room with no doors
Seems to be no escape from these internal wars
A never ending maze that seems to have no beginning and no end
Once iron clad will is now starting to bend.
Losing the ability to see a new angle
Over a cliff I let my feet dangle
That's it... Start over again
Maybe the way out is the way in
Maybe to progress
One must regress
To heal
I must go back and truly feel
Feel all the pain and accept my past
Stop running and wear all the pain and faults like a cast
For my past is what made me
And my future will be who I choose to be
But I must release the anguish and forgive to truly be free.
Only then will I see the way out has always been within reach

This poem is about:
Me
My family
My country
