The Kingdom

I tried to break the ice in your cold words

I tried to weaken so you could grow stronger

With words, with tears, with hopes

At times, I would feel tremors in your voice

But they weren’t enough to shatter

The castle you have built around yourself

The fantasy of having everything

Brewing in the depths of your brain

A stronger army would be needed

To take the magnificence down

I see the pride radiating off the kingdom

Maybe, I was strong enough to take over it

Maybe, I liked the crown better on your head

This poem is about:
Me
My family
