King Roland II's First Wish

A daughter, Amber

A Son, Hugo

And Sofia is the title of her own show.

but what of the father?

King Roland II?

and the wishing well

of which no one knew?

One day Amber was feeling neglected

by her father,

who to every request by Sofia, accepted,

off to wander, Amber found a secret-

a wishing well that promised a world perfect.

in goes a coin,

out came a wish,

but sher sister became a cat when she said

"make my father allergic"

this part of the story you know,

and you know how the king fixed it;

but what of his first wish?

ah, here's where the story is twisted.

decades ago, before sofia and the children

Rolland was small,

and utterly rotten;

his father decided,

when he grew old and weak,

the thrown would be given to his daughter,

angelique.

Rolland was angry, and ran into the back courtyard

he needed a plan

and he wished for a solution

he heard the voice calling

"Give me your riches and I'll grant your wishes"

and rushed over;

Young Rolland leaned over and stared in the eyes

"you'll grant my wish?"

"certainly" he replies.

in goes a coin

and out came a wish

but he heard a wild scream when he said

"make angelique never exist"

he rushed to his home,

only a minute or two away,

to find that his dear mother

had just passed away.

his father,

was standing over her,

"she asked for you by name,

before she expired"

his father took him

up in his arms,

and that's when he realized he'd become a toddler!

in order to ensure

angeligue's existence was not

the well took them back.

the mother and child died in labor

and Rolland was not a tot.

he worked hard for years to right his wrong

and vowed never to harm again

though now he is careful and a caring sweet father

paved with a blood-stained path.

but then, everyone has a past, haven't they?
