Ken the Kite (or How I Got a New Job from Drugs)

Location

The light, the light, it is oh so bright

As I run around in the yard with my kite.

He talks to me while he is in the sky

"Hey" I said, he replied with "Bye".

I started to plea "I need you to stay!"

He thought for an hour and replied "OK."

The wind stopped a-blowing, like a bear in his den

The kite introduced himself and his name was Ken.

I told him my name, and we went out to eat

We got our food and we took a seat.

We finally finished and threw away our trash

He had this crazy idea to go steal some cash.

I said "You're crazy, I could go to jail!"

He said "That's OK, I'll have money for bail."

I decided to do it, I was afraid to say

But if we pulled it off, it would be a sweet pay day.

I went to the store and got some masks for our face

And it case there was a tousle, I bought some mace.

I said "Are you sure? This is a huge crime."

He replied "It's OK, it ain't me doin' the time."

We flipped through the Yellow Pages, found the perfect bank.

As we walked to the door, my heart sank.

I busted open the doors, "Everybody get down!"

I could see the people in line, the back of their pants turned brown.

We walked to the teller "Give me yo' money"

The teller was calm and said "Cool it, honey.

You can get this money on one condition:

You can work here in a part-time position."

I turned around to ask Ken what to do.

I saw him running, I wanted to go too.

I had no other options so I took the job

Now whenever I get home I just sit and sob.

I really miss Ken, he was my best friend ever.

He was kind and sweet and oh so clever.

I found a new friend, though, and he is real treat.

The only issue is it's a pile of raw meat.
