Katrina ... hurricane season is here ...
Lamentations 3:17
17 I am deprived of peace;
I have forgotten what happiness is.
Katrina
Where is the pain?
“Time will tell” is a scary thought written in history
”All is well”. a phony caught in a place of misery
All I see is misery but I can’t feel the pain
Just one storm was raging and now so many homeless
A world turned upside down with little left to gain
Flattened out and beaten as all seems lost in vagueness
Water everywhere and human nature exposed
Great desperation as some are drowning in greed
The nature of the Fallen seems so overdosed
As all in destiny’s embrace are possessed here
Helpless and hopelessness sleeping side by side
Dreams are now replaced by nightmares
When wide awake observing the little that’s right
As most seems gone even the omen of welfare
We all will pull together although in different ways
All the roads are leading by instinct to survival
Countless now seems time with little left to pay
Even though the human will is an amazing marvel
Some fare well and some forgotten from the beginning
The yesterdays of plenty are drowning everywhere
State of heart today may change before tomorrow
in losers and in winners in temporal’s presence there
Some had lots and some had little but all is now rubble
Unprepared authorities seemed an artificial helpless band
Like it or not human’s best effort is brittle like stubble
In a dessert of despair where all seems out of hand
The best and the worst forming a human chain
Some plead for help while others steal the day
“The last will be the first one day”, reminded again
That some good in some seems to fade away
Hearts of mush and hearts of steel molded here together
In a ring of water churning to great depth
In a hush in a desperate appeal to restrain the weather
That showed so quickly that man is so inept
