Just some sincere memories.

and he held my hand and my eyes
filled but did-
n’t spill
and the pad of his
thumb kept
touching mine in morse
code
which is more appro-
priate than you
know and
i stood and i wai-
ted
with outstretched palm
and i knew how it would
go, i
could feel it some-
where deep inside me
where all the knowings know
and i knew
when his lips met my
dimple in
a precise
caress
and it was soft and
so simple and
full of
sentiment
i have been of the
opinion that
a kiss to the cheek can
mean more
than can
one for the dominion of
the twin
rose-coloured tissues from
which words
are
let
to
fall
but
i never knew how
it felt
until the one
microcosm of
a world that was a mo-
mentous
melt

i never knew that one
simple kiss could
bring me
to halcyon watershed
and now to be asked to
sacrifice this? please
i have but one request

just give me till the autumn equinox
i can care for you just
for now and i
promise to know how to let
go when time
greets me with a bow.
