Joy: Redefined

the joy of the Lord is not a head thrown back laughing

it's a hopeful heart in a down-trodden being

it's not always a bright grin

sometimes it's simply a quiet peace during the raging storm

the strength from this joy isn't the kind superman used to bring a bus airborne

it's not a raging wall of flames

it's not a hurricane tearing through the wilderness

no, the strength from the joy of the Lord is rather a steady stream guiding us along the path of righteousness
