Joy

My spirit feels enlightened.

My body, warmed by the vitality,

And the simplicity,

Of a good day’s laughter.

Such a natural feeling.

Under light it is gilded.

Saintly, it is intrinsic to children.

Yet as synonymous to healing.

A force of nature

Brought on by beauty,

By love, and even by failure.

It shows no frailty.

Joy lies to us not

It shows us new worlds

Our troubles unfurl

As they begin to rot,

And our lives lose their distraught.
