The Journey

To give in within
the social norms
and forget how we were before
would be asking the impossible,
creating the identity, masked
hide the dignity,
and forget the past.
To write is to remember the hard times,
the happy, the painful,
and mix it together until
nothing is definite but still within.
No more scraps of paper,
meant to be hidden from the judgmental thoughts,
of those who think they're superior.
In the world of poetry, we all stand the same.
No better, no worse,
but the journey remains.
