Jolly Joy

What makes me feel good?

The day the roar of classic carols ripple through my high school choir. It may be August but we're prepared, even if the conductor is not.

The anticipation of getting to watch all the antique cartoons and movies: Roudlph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, A Christmas Story

Thinking of these things gives my spine a tingle from Jack Frost himself.

Knowing that today may be a bad day but eventually I will smell the classic mexican Christmas purfume of tamales and Abuelita hot chocolate while I soak in the company of my crazy family gatherings. The sense of being loved on Earth and up above.

Giving and recieving a smile while awaiting St. Nick's arrival. Hyping up myself more than my little cousins for this less than ficticous fat man with a welcoming set of facial hair.

Belting a Christmas ballad during the blistering heat of May gives me relief: "All I Want for Christmas is You", "Last Christmas", "Oh Come all Ye' Faithful".

Christmas is what brings me joy no matter the month, day, hour or minute.

I'm always looking foward to the season that gives me a reason to feel good inside and out.
