The years are sluggishly dwindling from his face,
Apprehending what trivial nepenthes settled me comatose to truth sought.
Ceaseless pants the storm brewed for eternity’s final embrace

Loathsome lies a hobbled servant to an endless race.
Winter’s untimely progression against a feeble stem has caused root.
The years are sluggishly dwindling from his face.

He recalls upon matted memories left to preserve between a crawlspace
Clandestine behind dilapidated lettered blocks, and almost forgot
Ceaseless pants the storm brewed for eternity’s final embrace.

Pre-eminent is the tick-tock of a grandfather clock to a tenuous child lost in space,
Who seeks retribution of the centuries spent in utter distraught.
The years are sluggishly dwindling from his face,

But vigilantly he stood on a battlefield requisitioned by his birthplace,
While time has warred his fortitude, a lesson learned but never taught.
Ceaseless pants the storm brewed for eternity’s final embrace.

We try, and fall short as Job’s comforters at the foot of his bed. Erase
Him from Hade’s list “return him to the light of day” we besought.
The years are sluggishly dwindling from his face,
While ceaseless pants the storm brewed for eternity’s final embrace
