Jazz Bar

Jazz Bar by Lark De Cuir

The saxophone is playing,

People are swaying,

Their feet weighing on the floor as they dance.

The rain in pouring

And cars are roaring

Stuck in traffic much to their dismay.

The jazz bar is lively,

Yet ever so slightly the drums begin to play.

People look dashing

The music is thrashing,

Their smiles light up the night.

I spot this woman from far away,

Her hips begin to sway.

I walk to her frantically,

Even romantically,

But her attention is the other way.

My heart is beating reading her every move

But she does not seem to be in the mood.

What can I do to get her to notice me?

Or am I just acting a fool.

People are crowded and I feel stranded

From the woman who might have brightened my day.

The night is ending and I am sending,

Farewell to the lady in red.Jazz Bar by Lark De Cuir
