It's Practically Raining Roses

I woke up at dawn, and I thought to myself,

"What awful could happen today?

Unknown is my fate, could disaster await,

Only a second away?"

But then I decided that instead of all gloom,

I could walk through life with a grin,

For there's nothing too vile I can't face with a smile,

Each day is a victory to win.

There's life in my bones, there's blue in the sky,

My life is incredibly great,

My hands are all thumbs, my toast is just crumbs,

But at least I have food on my plate!

My car needs repair, but I'm glad it still runs,

And gets me from Point A to B,

I find it's distressing I missed this big blessing,

Some folks would trade places with me.

My health is not perfect, as nobody's is,

Some days I feel tired and beat,

But I'm able to talk, to hear, to walk,

Who cares if there's pain in my feet?

And I can name people who I count as friends,

Who love me and see what I'm worth,

It makes me ashamed, the times I have named

Myself the least cared for on earth!

Well, I feel so thankful, the world seems aglow,

My heart feels as light as a cloud.

The problems I faced seem nearly erased,

As I shout out my blessings aloud!

Are you in despair as you think of your life,

Do you wish you could run and forget?

You have life and hope, there's no end to your rope,

How awesome and great can it get?
