It's Hard

We have been in that uncomfortable situation when

Someone has that scary look in their eyes

And they get too close.

Most of the time you can call for help,

And someone intervenes.

But sometimes it

No one comes.

No one helps.

No one is there.

No one knows.

You for some reason feel guilty

like it's your fault.

You cry so much that you cry silently so no one hears.

But you fight,

You fight the saddness.

You fight the urge to cry in public.

You fight the fear and anxiety of going outside.

Because everyone looks like them,

Every single person sounds like them.

And you overcome.

You overcome the fear,

You overcome the paranoia,

You overcome the guilt,

You overcome the depression.

Because you are strong.

You are stronger but also,

More fragile than before.
