It's Always Three, Isn't It

I've been staring at your
mouth for three years.

I couldn't look you
in the eye that night,
I felt the shame of having to flee
my home to your arms.
I felt weak for having
to run.

We looked at the sky and saw a shooting star and you kissed me.

God, you finally kissed me.

We laughed,
it was the first time I had
laughed in a while.

I lay on your chest and notice
that your heart beats stronger than mine. Of course
it does.

I've been staring at your mouth for
three years and
I got to kiss it for three weeks
before you said to me your three words-
"I love her."

...

I've been staring at your mouth for three years and
I can't look at it anymore.
I told you your heart beats stronger than mine.
